Truth & Mercy Series - March 22nd 2026

Have you been to one of our Bible Study Thursday sessions yet? There has been an energy level and readiness to grow in knowledge with each other that is electric. I have seen excitement from both the little ones and the not so young.
We have a good variety of soups and desserts to quench our thirst and hunger for physical food while we do not deny our great thirst for the BREAD of LIFE!! It has been wonderful to see various families and pious societies bring soups and desserts and even the Pastoral and Finnance Councils.
The Knights of Columbus and Legion of Mary have also taken turns to provide for the Thursday dinners. Our parish is undergoing a true journey of community conversion which will be a continuous exercise.
The Bible groups have picked names which they will go by. Some called themselves St. Thomas Aquinas, others Emmanuel, St. Michael, Students of Proverbs, St. Cecilia, and Fishers of Men. We are raising parishioners who are being armed with the WORD of God. The WORD is a command and knowledge of who we are in God’s eye and what God has in store for each of us.
The ONLY way to dislodge the enemy or devil is by knowing God’s WORD for us and His plans. This was the power Jesus used against the devil while in the desert. The devil is crafty and manipulative. Only the living WORD of God can set a fire of liberation for us. If you want to build an army, you want to have the best chain of command and deliver communication from the General to the followers. The Lord Jesus Christ is our GENERAL while His Beloved Mother is our GENERALISSIMO. The two hearts of Jesus and Mary issue commands on a regular basis and they wish we pay attention to them.
These WORDS depend on our situations. It could be encouragement, illumination, consolation, and /don’t often get lost in their search while the WORD is right here, so close. or comfort. The WORDS could also be challenging, instructions, fortification, reprimand or call to order.
This is clearly spelt out thus, “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3: 16- 17).
The holy season of Lent is a good time to be equipped for every good work the Lord has in store for us. There is a mission God has in store for us but only when we dwell on His Word can we gradually find out or discover what His designs are for us.
Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness where He was prepared for the mission of redeeming the world. Our 40 days are a great opportunity to be armed and equipped for God’s vision and plan for us. In times of stress, He calls us to come and rest. In times of isolation, He invites us into the community.
God never abandons us once we know how to draw from the fount of His living WORD.
Don’t get lost in your search for the WORD when it is right here. Come and See!
