Without the Holy Spirit, God is far away, Christ remains in the past, the Gospel is a dead book, the Church a mere organization, the authority only dominion, the mission propaganda, the cult but an incantation and Christian action a slave morality. 

But, with the Holy Spirit, the cosmos rises and moans in the birth pangs of the kingdom, the risen Christ is there, the Gospel is the power of life, the church enters triune communion, authority becomes a liberating ministry, our mission a new Pentecost, liturgy both remembrance and anticipation, and our human action is glorified.
